No, Exact Online does not have an MCP server itself. You can use Exact Online data via MCP by using DigiData as an intermediate layer: DigiData synchronizes your administration and offers a read-only MCP server that you connect to ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client.
What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that allows AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude to securely connect to external data sources. An MCP server determines what data an AI model is allowed to read and what actions it is allowed to perform.
Which MCP route does DigiData provide?
DigiData provides MCP access to selected, synchronized Exact Online data. The connector handles source authentication, pagination and synchronization; the assistant uses bounded read-only tools.
How do you use Exact Online data via MCP?
With DigiData you insert an intermediate layer. DigiData automatically synchronizes your Exact Online administration and offers a read-only MCP server. You connect this to ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client via OAuth. You decide which tables and columns are accessible.
The advantage: the AI assistant works on structured, synchronized data instead of live API calls to Exact Online. Questions do not need a new source API call. Synchronization remains subject to Exact Online permissions, availability and API limits.
