Short answer
You connect Exact Online to Power BI by using DigiData as a data layer. Connect Exact Online once via OAuth, choose your administration and then load the DigiData OData feed in Power BI Desktop via Get data, OData feed. No API scripts or manual exports required.
The shortest route to a working link
Exact Online does not have a built-in Power BI connector. The practical route is an OData feed: a standard that Power BI supports natively. DigiData automatically retrieves your Exact Online data and delivers it as a permanent OData feed.
Step-by-step plan
- Connect Exact Online with DigiData. You log in to Exact Online and authorize DigiData via OAuth. DigiData does not store a password.
- Choose your administration or division. If you work with multiple administrations, select which one you want to synchronize.
- Wait for the first synchronization. DigiData structures tables such as relations, invoices and general ledger accounts.
- Load the OData feed into Power BI. In Power BI Desktop, choose Get Data, OData feed, and paste the DigiData URL.
- Set scheduled refresh. In Power BI Service, your report will then automatically refresh.
Why not directly via the API?
The Exact Online API requests OAuth tokens, pagination and rate limit handling in Power Query. That makes your report a maintenance project. With an OData feed, your Power BI model remains simple and portable.
